Healthcare

Since its inception in the mid-nineties, The Law Offices of Stanley L. Friedman has handled a number of significant and noteworthy healthcare cases. It has represented mid-sized medical and healthcare institutions and entities, as well as business professionals and individuals who work in that industry.  Adroit at handling complex civil litigation, Friedman has prevailed in many cases. To date, Friedman has obtained six high-profile injunctions against the state of California and the United States in cases related to more than a billion dollars in healthcare costs. One such case, Douglas v. Independent Living Center of Southern California, was recently argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. In its published decision, the high court referred the case back to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and, after more than one year of high-stakes negotiation, the case is now in the final stages of settlement which will benefit thousands of healthcare providers statewide.

Business professionals the firm has represented in healthcare disputes include: medical doctors, dentists, pharmacists, medical transporters, medical administrators, and others within the healthcare community.

The firm has been able to obtain injunctions in the following cases:

Independent Living Center of Southern California v. Shewry, Central District of California, injunction obtained on August 18, 2008;
